The NOKIA N82

Looking out for the next best thing since the NOKIA N95? Then check out the all new NOKIA N82!

In early 2007, N95 stormed the mobile world with its “hard to beat” features. With no tough competitor, N95 was a clear ruler. In November 2007, NOKIA brought out a close substitute N82 to its present ruler. Let’s check the commendable features of N82.

Check out the list of features:

  • Size 112×50x17 mm, Weight 114 g
  • 5 MP camera, with 2592 x 1944 pixels
  • 6X digital zoom, Auto-focus, Carl Zeiss optics with Tessar lens
  • Xenon flash & dual lens covers
  • TFT display, 2.4” LCD with 240 x 320 pixels & 16.7 mm colors, Automatic screen rotation
  • 128 MB RAM, 2 GB memory card upgradeable up to 16 GB
  • GPS enabled, Built-in GPS receiver
  • 3G (with HSDPA) technology enabled with EDGE and GPRS
  • SYMBIAN OS with S60, feature pack 1
  • SMS, MMS, Blue tooth, Email, Wireless LAN, TV Out, NOKIA PTT (Push-To-Talk)
  • Stereo speakers, 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, Real Player, Real Video, Stereo FM radio
  • Long battery stand-by of 210-225 hours, Talk time of 190 minutes
  • 10 hours of Music play time, 2 hours of video call
  • Xpress Print enabling direct print through USB port

Despite the commendable features, the N82 is questioned for its unfriendly keypad & joystick. Also, the FM doesn’t have RDS. You got to shell out extra dollars for voice-assisted navigation. The slightly 0.4” smaller LCD of N82 makes us rethink. But still the phone rules in many respects. It has Xenon flash, dual lens covers as compared to the single cover in N95, automatic rotation and expandable memory get a clear win for N82. The memory feature overtakes the rigid internal memory of N95.

To sum it up, NOKIA N82 proves out to be a reasonable option, yet combining almost the same features as that of N95. So what say? Go for it!

New iPhone 3G Version To Be Released Soon

The long-awaited upgraded 3G version of Apple’s iPhone will be released soon and I can see people standing in line already! With the original iPhone not even a year old, Apple is still trying to play catch-up to the rest of the high-end cell phone market already on the faster 3G network. Even with the current iPhones cool looks, sleek design and outstanding functionality, it is easy to see why a gadget guru/office professional may think twice before plunking down the big bucks. The do-everything cell phone market is fast growing and Apple needs to keep up with the huge demand for streaming video, audio, and GPS navigation abilities of the 3G network. The iPhone is way behind when it comes to their EDGE network, which is a lot slower than other provider’s networks already using the much faster 3G version. This new network capability will be huge for streaming media and intensive graphics.
