After using a navigation system in my last two vehicles I must honestly say that I can’t imagine myself being without one. I use my navigation everyday, even in familiar areas when I need a reminder of a street name or want to take a shortcut route past the congested traffic I may be stuck in at the time. The other extremely useful feature of any navigation system is the ability to plug in any address and immediately turn into a true local in your area. Over time the navigation system has become a must have addition to a new owner’s vehicle. If you’re anything like me and have been spoiled by using one, then you certainly understand where I’m coming from.

Enter Honda – The car manufacturer has developed a new kind of GPS navigation system that can detect high-crime areas. It does this by searching throught he local police records and can alert drivers in real-time. This new system will be installed in new Honda vehicles and let the driver know if they are in or too close to a high crime area where cars were previously stolen or broken into.

Don’t look at this new feature at your local Honda dealer in the USA, as Honda states there are no plans to add this feature just yet to navigation systems in the USA.
