How to stream audio from your iPhone to bluetooth headset?

Alright, for the iPhone lovers here are some tips on how to stream audio from your phone to a Bluetooth headset.

Before we start let me give you a brief introduction of Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).

A2DP is a new feature that allows sending of high quality audio from one device to another. Bluetooth Wireless Technology with A2DP makes mobiles, pda’s and computers capable of streaming audio directly to other devices. In our case, we use A2DP to stream audio from iPhone to Bluetooth headset. Got the idea? Ok let’s start cracking then.

How do you stream audio? Closely watch these steps as I reveal it to you.

  1. First look for a connection between your phone and Bluetooth headset. Once you do, the phone takes some minutes to recognize a connection from the paired headset.
  2. Now you got to look into the Visual voicemail screen and choose the Audio button which is in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Remember this button will be the speaker button when your headset isn’t on.
  3. Once you are done with the above step, you should receive an audio selection dialog which has the option to “Change audio source”. Select the option “iPhone Bluetooth Headset”. You are done!
  4. Now switch over to the iPod and begin playing audio or video of your choice.

You should be able to listen to the audio from the headset. Enjoy!
