Earlier this year Microsoft released the latest software for the MAC - MS Office for Mac 2008 hit the market in early 2008 and was a huge success. It compliments the fact that Apple is utilizing the Intel processors, which was a very strategic move giving Microsoft Windows-based PC users an excuse to move over to the Apple computer line.

MS Office for MAC 2008 is one application that devoted Apple users have been waiting a long time for, mainly because MS Office has been the most powerful application suite available. If you have an Intel-based Mac, then you are ready to go with the application at full speed. MS Office 2008 includes Mac versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with the program. The “Home Edition” version excludes the Microsoft Exchange support and also the OS X Automator actions for work-flows. These options come in the standard version. There is also an edition known as “Special Media Edition” which adds the Microsoft Expression Media program for graphics asset management.

The Mac’s menu bar has access to all of the traditional menus. It also provides quick access to graphics, templates and other tools. You will surely find lots of improvements in performance compared to the prior versions.

There are some drawbacks application. it saves the work by default in new file formats and features do not match the likes of Office 2007 for Windows. But overall, I would say, definitely an application that is not to be missed.
